Colin Devroe: The Diet - Part Thrice!

  • Bryan Culver · 9 months ago
It's been years since The Diet part 1 and boy do I remember it.

    Current Weight: 195

I am aiming for 185 which will be hard to reach because I'm trying to gain muscle too. Hopefully I and everyone else can stick to it this time. Colin, beat Pat. XD

I've got a wedding in September to prepare for.

I'm 214 today, and the goal is 182 by mid-summer. I don't plan to stop there, but I'll wait to set any further goals until I hit the first one.

I actually started about a week ago, so I'm into the mindset already. Let's do this.
  • Colin Devroe · 9 months ago
Nice to have you Chris! Lets get you ready for your nuptials!
  • Chris Fehnel · 9 months ago
If the mighty Illtron is in, I'm in. I did P90X this morning. The third time will stick... hopefully. I realize it's just talk since I haven't finished it yet, but I really really want to do it.

I don't know what my starting weight is. I don't have a scale, but maybe I'll pick one up for the diet.

Stickel motivated me last night, so now I'm really really pumped for this. "You're weak willed, dude." Donkey Kong time. If you want some motivation follow http://twitter.com/healthierme

    Nice to have you again!

Well, I was part of Diet part 1 and lost 25 lbs and still going. My mother in law became sick and the diet was put on the back burner. Gained 10 lbs back but became pregnant shortly after my mother in law died. Still have the "baby pouch" but I have about 30 lbs, to get rid of. Started going to the gym and making strides then my mom got sick and passed away. Need to get motivated to go back to the gym and eat better. I am back! Going to the gym today!
  • Colin Devroe · 9 months ago
Glad to have you back on Mary!

  • Pat · 9 months ago
    Listen up, Devroe.

You think you're sooo cool with your fancy words like "thrice," and your prettied-up before picture.

Well, it's time to set the record straight.

    You. Are. Going. Down.

    I mean, up.

I mean, or stay the same.

Just... lose weight slower than me.

    224 lb.

    pce.

    Pat

You don't stand a chance. Don't cry about it. I mean, not everyone can be as awesome as Michael Mistretta or, say, me. But. You'll get there.
  • Michael Mistretta · 9 months ago
    What a hoot! I'm in.

I'm currently 192, and aiming to get down to 175.
  • Colin Devroe · 9 months ago
Well if it isn't the guy that made Pat Dryburgh famous. Welcome to the challenge Michael. Looks like you have about 20 pounds to lose. Looks like I'm going to beat you there. Sorry. :)

I'm in. 240ish. I'll get on a scale later in the day.
  • Colin Devroe · 9 months ago
Good to have you this time around Eric. No more Pinky's for us for a little while!
  • Eric Brophy · 9 months ago
Officially 243.5 (rounded to the half pound, I believe).
  • lisa · 9 months ago
I'm in it to win it.

I keep saying I'm going to do something, to exercise more, lose the 30lbs that just hover there.

I don't own a scale, so weigh-ins are out. Maybe I'll just use measurements. I do own a tape measure...
  • Colin Devroe · 9 months ago
    Nice to have you Lisa!
  • Derek Jay Steen · 9 months ago
Colin, I have a hard time believing you weigh 200lbs, but I guess I haven't seen ya (in person) in a while.

Good to see everyone bonding together with this.

I'd also like to pitch in a prize for the winner; his/her choice of a cake or candy.

I'll try and keep tabs on "The Diet", but let me know who wins. :)
  • Colin Devroe · 9 months ago
Only you would link to cake and candy on a diet post!!!
  • Mike Stickel · 9 months ago
Alright, I need to chime in here. As one of the originals I think it's high time I showed all of you how to do it. Again.

Much like Lisa, I don't own a scale so I won't be weighing myself. I do take measurements every 30 days and will be posting them. The first update should be on the blog late tonight or tomorrow.

    Be prepared to be pwned!

Oh, and since I'm not in it to lose weight, I'm open to suggestions on how I can join in the contest fun? For example: lose 5% body fat, gain 3 inches of muscle on a body part, [insert viewer suggestion here].
  • Colin Devroe · 9 months ago
You are my inspiration Mike!!! You bringing meaning to my life! I'd say go for body fat percentage if you're going to do cardio, and do inches of muscle if you're going to do weight or strength training. Right?
  • Mike Stickel · 9 months ago
That might be a little tough because I'm planing on doing both. Perhaps that should be my metric then. Now, what should the numbers be… thoughts? Challenge me people! Current measurements are on my blog.
  • Sambo · 9 months ago
255 is where I start.Im looking forward to the results. Thanks for the push in Colin!
  • Daniel Nicolas · 9 months ago
How did I miss this? I realize I'm late to participate in any sort of bet, but I am going to be re-dedicating myself to this starting: now.
  • James Mathias · 8 months ago
I'm still on The Diet, never stopped. But I have plateaued. So I'm in. I need to shed this other 100 pounds. The first 100 came off easy and I've maintained that loss since, but I'm having a hard time going beyond there.

I'm starting a new exercise program Monday and working through a plateau buster attempt last week and this week, and hopefully priming my body for the new program and be able to kick start my loss engine again and reach my goal.

So I'm in, current weight 345
