We've started a tradition of going away on our anniversary. This year we are renting a house on the down east coast of Maine, and planning to do a lot of biking, photography and reading. Just relaxing.

We usually swap between this kind of a vacation and one where we go somewhere new we've never been and just soak up the new culture, foods and area. We've got a long list going of places we want to visit.

I never considered it a vacation even though that is the term I use to describe it. It was kind of a homecoming really, people that I hardly knew that acted completely familiar with me. I'd like to take a real vacation soon, though. New Zealand, Australia, Japan, back to Jordan, and as much of Europe as possible.

I take all my vacation time every year, but rarely do any significant travel. Mostly, I just visit places within a few hours drive of home (Philly) -- places like Baltimore, Manhattan, the Poconos, Lancaster, etc. For instance, a couple years ago, we had a great time biking and rafting the Lehigh River Gorge.

I also love checking out interesting architecture. I've been wanting to make it out to see Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Waters for years now. To this point, the only Wright design I've been in is the Guggenheim.

My idea of vacation is going to a far away place with a camera and a long break from my laptop, computer, internet, email, and texting.

I hope to accomplish this when I go to Italy in July.

A true vacation to me is a book and a beach. Going to Long Beach Island this summer for that.

I'm REALLY not into sightseeing, but I will do it. When I went to India last year (for work), we took some side trips. They didn't really feel vacationy, because we did so much walking around in the heat.

I also love a long weekend at a bed and breakfast with my man. Hot tub, wine, yum.

Only you two would go to Mexico and have McDonald's!! :) Arizona is, as you said, very different from PA. Pennsylvania is all about green, deep blue, and rolling hills. Arizona is rust colored, very light blue, and flat!

I loved Arizona. Al and I went there for his best friend's wedding when we first were dating. It was so beautiful. It is totally flat and since I live in NEPA, I was amazed. Loved the scenery, the cacti and the weather. We even went across the border into Mexico...interesting to say the least. Didn't care for the spicy food, so we ate a lot of McD's. But I would love to go back there =)

Eliza and I enjoy the Outer Banks (OBX baby!) also. We've been there quite a few times.

My oldest brother lives on the Outer Banks. Went down to see him for a week at the end of January and -loved- it. If everything works out, I'm going down there again in May.

Other than that, my vacations come as frequently as the Circuit Overseer visits.

I have had the pleasure of spending some time out west. You are going to have a great time. Take lots of photos/video. But you'll find when you get home that neither do the experience any justice. Have fun!

This summer my girlfriend and I are spending 4 weeks camping/hiking/backpacking out west. I can't wait, it is going to be an amazing trip.

I tend to never really enjoy myself when I go on a vacation, because it always seems to turn into a stressful string of things that go wrong. Plus, I don't get all that many opportunities for true vacations.
So I take micro vacations. I'll spend a particular day, just relaxing, doing whatever it is I want to do by myself, without worrying about any kind of responsibility. These breaks help keep me sane.

Oahu was nice and I'm sure Kauai was just awesome. Eliza and I also like to plan shorter, affordable vacations through out the year like trips to the Finger Lakes for wine tastings, trip to friends houses that aren't too far away, and - like this June - going to work unassigned territory!

Vacation for me = sunshine and/or beautiful scenery, super delicious food, and a really wonderful bed.

I love vacationing. This month, we're going to Atlantic City for a few days ($19/night at the Trump Marina as a promo thing). In May, for our anniversary, we're heading up to Bar Harbor for a bit. In September, fingers crossed, the Outer Banks for a week with the Fehn fam, and in December, we're tentatively down to Florida for a couple weeks with Shan and Tim and the kids to escape winter yet again.

My dream vacation is Italy, and my favorite place in the world (that's I've been to) is Kauai.

Last year I went to Las Vegas with Made Fit TV's Jenny DiDonato and proposed to her. Luckily she said yes, so this year we're going there again to get married. :)
