Colin Devroe: MarsEdit 2.3 is out and supports Tumblr

I recently purchased a competitor to MarsEdit, Blogo, and am starting to regret it. MarsEdit truly is a superior piece of software. Hopefully Blogo can get there in time, but it has a lot of work to do to get it right.

Maybe Daniel will feel bad for you and give you a discount code. That is what I would do if you were duped into buying something that isn't nearly as good as MarsEdit.

Hi Colin - thanks for the kind words.

John, I dropped you a line at your email address as discovered via your web page.

    Thanks so much!

MarsEdit has been used to write more of my entries (since it was originally released) than WordPress. My only worry when I switch *away* from WordPress to something more custom is that I won't be able to use MarsEdit any more...

    Great job, Daniel.

Dan: If you build something custom, make sure it supports the MetaWeblog API and you will have no problems. :)

I've been using MarsEdit for a while now, and will never go back.

Once you get into using the keyboard shortcuts for things like links, formatting, etc., you begin to realize just how truly powerful this piece of software is.

I too tried blogo, and found after two posts that it was not the experience I was looking for. Everything about it seemed sort of "cheap."

MarsEdit's integration with Flickr is also an incredible feature. I upload my photos to flickr, and without having to copy the image url's can simply insert them into a blog post using MarsEdit's media window. Saves me tons of time.

Daniel has done a great job with MarsEdit, and should be commended for his work.
